The book offers a comprehensive study of religion, memory and identity of the Bulgarian Muslims in the context of the functioning of the two most important religious centers in Bulgaria and the Rhodope Mountains - Cross Forest and turbe (tomb) of Enihan. Presented is the design of the two holy places, which follows trends in the sociopolitical development of Bulgarian society and their importance to local culture. Differing attitudes to self-determination of the Bulgarian Muslims questioned in connection with collective and personal memory. The study of the religiosity of Muslim Bulgarians focuses on transformation processes, including on conversion. Presents several cases of change of religion - from Islam to Orthodox Christianity and Islam to evangelism.
